I’m alive!

Time flies when you’re having fun!
I remember a friend saying these words to me a couple of years ago and oh man, was he right!
Before starting the trip I had the plan of publishing one blog post every week… So for everybody waiting for news here, I sincerely apologize! I just didn’t take the time to write nor did I find the motivation. On the days cycling it feels like I don’t have much time to do anything else than ride, eat, sleep. But I’ll try to catch up here at least country by country in the future.

After the Balkans I left Europe through Greece to Turkey, changed my plans and traveled through Iran and Turkmenistan unexpectedly.
Now I just finished a big step. When I set off for this trip, my goal was to make it through the Pamir mountains in summer, as I would be crossing passes over 4000m high. And guess what, I just did it! Tajikistan was probably one of the toughest countries to cycle in – mentally and physically.
Good company was the fuel that kept me going.
But now I have an urgent need to rest. I will take more time to write. Stay longer in some places. And hopefully soon find a nice beach to get rid of my ridiculous cyclist tan lines.

In the meantime you can check out my Polarsteps site, where you can see where in the world I am at the moment – with all my sleeping places marked on one world map!
